Dr. Gina Graziani is a distinguished graduate of West Virginia University School of Dentistry. The Class of 2013 alumna is a board-certified, pediatric dentist who completed specialized advanced education at the University of California, San Francisco to work specifically with children.

Early in her role as department chair, educator and provider, Graziani set out to collaborate with WVU Medicine Children’s to treat patients in their new and much-anticipated, state-of-the-art children’s hospital. A partnership that promotes the dental school’s commitment to providing not just the best oral healthcare, but the most comprehensive and overall systemic care for our youngest patients.

Dr. Graziani’s bolder goal is to develop the next generation of pediatric dentists to provide advanced and specialized care across the Mountain State.

“Access to oral healthcare in West Virginia is a huge barrier especially for children. We want to grow our own. If we can recruit and train pediatric dentists and keep them in West Virginia, we decrease the dental disease burden in our children,” Graziani said.

A native of Randolph County, Graziani and her husband returned to north central West Virginia to work and raise their family.

“It feels good to come full circle to be on a patient end, student end and faculty end. It’s an honor to bring change, leadership and health back home,” Graziani said.  “In teaching, I want to educate as many dental students as I can about the importance of oral health in children and early intervention and prevention, so more people are reaching the kids who need us,” Graziani said.
