Stanley Desire, MD is an Assistant Professor for the West Virginia University Department of Anesthesiology. He joined the Department of Anesthesiology as a member of the Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Anesthesiology in 2025. He is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (Anesthesiology, 2025, Cardiac Anesthesia, 2025) and National Board of Echocardiography (Advanced perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography, 2025). Dr. Desire earned his Doctor of Medicine at Colombia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, NY in 2019. He completed his surgery internship at the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY in 2020. Dr. Desire completed a year of Anesthesiology Residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical in Los Angeles, CA before transferring to Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University Health in Providence, RI to complete his Anesthesiology Residency in 2023. He completed his Fellowship in Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA in 2025.
