About Waleed Javaid
Dr. Waleed Javaid is a nationally recognized healthcare leader and infectious diseases specialist with deep expertise in quality improvement, infection prevention, and healthcare leadership. He recently joined WVU Hospitals as the inaugural Chief Quality Officer, bringing extensive experience in clinical, academic, and administrative leadership.
Before coming to WVU, Dr. Javaid served as the Director of Infection Prevention for Mount Sinai Downtown and Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. He has been recognized across the country for his contributions to advancing patient safety, compliance, and organizational performance.
Dr. Javaid earned his medical degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Pakistan and went on to complete both an MBA from the SC Johnson Graduate School of Management and an MS in Healthcare Leadership from the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Board certified in infectious diseases, he has led and developed numerous hospital programs that have improved patient outcomes while reducing costs and optimizing care delivery.
Widely respected as a speaker and thought leader, Dr. Javaid continues to mentor and guide teams across the healthcare spectrum, ensuring that innovation, safety, and compassion remain at the forefront of patient care.
