About Patsy Stoots
I am a tenured nursing faculty member at WVU Tech, where I teach pharmacology, health assessment, community health, and fundamentals of nursing. My background is in emergency nursing, and in addition to my faculty role, I work PRN as a nurse practitioner in the emergency department with WVU Medicine. I am passionate about nursing education and strive to create engaging, evidence-based learning experiences that help students develop strong clinical reasoning skills.
I also coordinate clinical experiences for sophomore nursing students, ensuring they gain hands-on exposure in acute care settings. My teaching approach aligns with NCLEX Next-Gen standards, emphasizing critical thinking, real-world application, and interactive learning. Outside of the classroom, I contribute to library resources, student recruitment, and faculty development initiatives while continuously working toward my own professional growth through ongoing education and certification.
