About Paula Sexton
Dr. Paula Sexton has 29 years of nursing experience. Her nursing experience includes Cardiac ICU, Perioperative Nursing (Pre/Post, OR), Endoscopy, Nursing Education, and Leadership. She is an American Heart Association Instructor for Basic Life Support (BLS), Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). She earned her BSN from the WVU School of Nursing. Dr. Sexton's MSN and DNP were completed at Waynesburg University. She completed her DNP Capstone in August 2021, focusing on Improving PACU Transfers Using An Electronic Dashboard: A Quality Improvement Initiative. Her capstone project was published in the Journal of Perianesthesia Nursing (JOPAN).
She was recognized with The Celebrating Excellence Recognition Award from the West Virginia Center of Nursing Excellence and received the 2022 Mary Hanna Memorial Journalism Award for her manuscript publication.
