About Alma Mattocks
Dr. Mattocks joins the WVU Division of Athletic Training after a career spanning 20 years as a clinician and an educator. She was integral in starting the Master of Science in Athletic Training (AT) program at Spalding University, and during her time in AT education has served as a Coordinator of Clinical Education, Program Director, and Chair. Prior to her role in AT education, Dr. Mattocks worked in NCAA Division III athletics, and as a Field Service Representative for DJO is now ENOVIS. Dr. Mattocks serves as a member of the CAATE Education Committee and is a CAATE Peer Reviewer.

Research Interests
The use of simulation and interprofessional education in Athletic Training (AT) education, are two growing areas aimed at improving student perception of interprofessional collaboration, student learning outcomes and preparing students for professional practice. My current research interests focus on the impact of simulation and interprofessional education in the AT curriculum. My most recent research studies have assessed the impact of simulation enhanced interprofessional education on Athletic Training student’s perceptions of interprofessional collaboration.
