About Kara Cales
I am a passionate Nursing Instructor with two years of experience in nursing education. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Executive specialty, from Chamberlain University and received a certificate in simulation from Drexel University. I have a strong clinical background, having worked as a Registered Nurse in various healthcare settings for twenty years before transitioning into education. I specialize in Medical-Surgical nursing and am dedicated to fostering the development of future nurses through evidence-based teaching methods.
In my current role as a Nursing Instructor, I am committed to creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically and develop their clinical skills. I am passionate about using innovative teaching strategies, including simulation-based learning and virtual reality to enhance the educational experience. I am actively involved in curriculum development for nursing health assessment and fundamentals courses. Committees which I participate are the faculty assembly, undergraduate faculty team, student success council, undergraduate program committee, and faculty recognition task force. I am driven by my belief in the importance of compassionate, competent, and well-prepared nurses in the healthcare system.
