Born in Southern Brazil in the year of 1968. He graduated from Pontiff Catholic University of Parana State, School of Dentistry, Curitiba - Brazil, obtaining a DDS degree.

Completed his post-graduation studies in Teachings and Didactics and received the title of "Specialist in Advanced Education” in 1996.

Residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) was completed in 1997.

From 1996 thru 1999, completed Doctorate in OMFS receiving a PhD degree from Pontiff Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul State, School of Dentistry, Porto Alegre - Brazil. Thesis research was in Bone Repair.

In 2003 completed a 2-full year training in OMFS at Baylor University Medical Center and Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas - TX under Dr. Larry M. Wolford´s tutelage.

In 2004 Dr. Stevao legalized in Brazil the TMJ Surgical Prosthesis System being the first surgeon to perform a science-based TMJ total joint alloplastic replacement in that country.

In 2008 Dr. Stevao was the first South American to enter the reclusive American Society of Temporomandibular Surgeons (ASTMJS).

Besides three already published text-books, Dr. Stevao wrote, edited and published the very first illustrative text-book about TMJ Surgery in Portuguese which was launched at the ASTMJ Meeting in 2014, Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Stevao has more than fifty scientific publications in international journals, descriptive and educational videos about OMFS freely available in the internet.

In February 25^th, 2022 Dr. Stevao researches and publications in OMFS had more than 30,000 reads at ResearchGate.net .

In August 21^st, 2023 Dr. Stevao reached the 600^th mention in other Scientific articles at Academia.edu . 

Successfully completed the NBDE I, II and NERB in 2015, receiving Doctor of Dental Surgery – DDS degree in the USA.

From 2016 through 2023 Dr. Stevao was an invited OMF surgeon at Elisabeth-Stiftung Hospital in Birkenfeld, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany and at Professor Dr. Dr. Peter M. Maurer Praxisklinik in Sankt Wendel, Saarland, Germany.

Board licensed in the State of Ohio since February 2018.

Effective Consultant and Reviewer for Full Dentistry in Science Journal; Associated Editor of the Advances in Dentistry & Oral Health Journal; Editor of the Online Journal of Dentistry and Oral Health; Advisory Board Member of the MC Dental Sciences - Medicon EB Journal; Member of the Brazilian Society of Dentistry Research; founder and former President; current secretary and honorary member of the Brazilian Academy of Piezosurgery.

Surgically placed the First Temporomandibular Joint Groningen – TMJG - Prosthesis System (Xilloc Medical, Netherlands) in Birkenfeld, in Germany in August of 2020.
