Dr. Anthony Peluso is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences, where he teaches multiple courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He also currently serves as the MPH Program Director. In addition to overseeing the curriculum and processes across the MPH Program, Dr. Peluso represents the School of Public Health in Faculty Senate, serves as a facilitator for several Interprofessional Education (IPE) activities in the Health Sciences Center and peer-reviews for several academic journals. Dr. Peluso has previously received awards for Excellence in Teaching in 2020 (as a doctoral student) and 2024 (as a faculty member). He was also selected as an Honors Faculty Fellow for the 2026-2027 academic year, where he will teach Appalachian Health Narratives, a 3-credit Honors course focused on examining health experiences and outcomes from various Appalachian perspectives. His scholarly interests include academic health department models, interprofessional education/partnerships, and pharmacy access to contraception.
