About Robert Nicewarner
Robert L. Nicewarner is an experienced data scientist and evaluation specialist currently serving as a Data Manager at the West Virginia Prevention Research Center (WVPRC) at WVU. In this role, Robert provides comprehensive data support across public health projects, leading evaluations for state-partnership initiatives focused on tobacco cessation, cardiovascular health, and diabetes prevention. He applies advanced statistical methods, including qualitative and quantitative analysis using tools like NVivo and Stata, to assess program effectiveness and develop actionable recommendations for continuous quality improvement. Robert also collaborates closely with state and community partners to implement data-driven strategies and facilitates capacity-building efforts through training and mentorship.
With a background in sociology and criminology, Robert has further developed extensive experience in applied public health research, data visualization, and participatory evaluation. His expertise spans stakeholder engagement, research design, and behavioral health research. A dedicated mentor and trainer, he has developed educational materials for Ripple Effects Mapping and trained partners in qualitative data collection methods. Robert holds a Master of Arts in Sociology and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology.
