About Hannah Ihnat
"Hannah Ihnat is a Project Assistant at the WVPRC. She is also a first-year MPH student, with an area of emphasis in biostatistics and epidemiology. Hannah graduated in May of 2023 from WVU's School of Public Health with a BS in Health Services Management & Leadership. During her senior year, she completed her capstone internship with the WVPRC, and was hired full-time shortly thereafter to continue working on the project she started on. Her work on this project has included analyzing the effects of a COVID-19 grant that was dispersed throughout the state. She works with her team by using qualitative analysis to identify ways in which community organizations used new resources to improve health outcomes of populations who experience rural disparities, as well as racial & ethnic disparities.
After Hannah graduates, she hopes to continue working to improve overall health outcomes in disparate communities by using qualitative and statistical analysis. She values the importance of long-term effects made up of efforts from people working to change the health of a population over time. In her free time, Hannah enjoys exploring state and national parks, running, and cooking. She looks forward to her next two years of learning and working in WVU's School of Public Health."
