About Shelly Davidov
Shelly Davidov is a versatile and detail-oriented communications professional with more than a decade of experience across strategic communications, copyediting, content management, and public relations. As Director of Marketing and Communications, she leads the development and oversight of multimedia content, organizational messaging, brand consistency, and media relations.
Shelly has a strong editorial background, having worked as a copyeditor, writer, and editor for both newspapers and digital media outlets, including the Miami New Times and Charleston Gazette. Her work combines a deep command of editorial standards (AP, APA, MLA) with modern marketing techniques and graphic design. Known for her collaborative approach, high-quality standards, and ability to translate complex concepts into accessible messaging, she is a trusted advisor on communication strategy within academic and public health contexts.

Prior to working at professional daily news organizations and online publications, Shelly was the Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Athenaeum, West Virginia University’s official newspaper.
