About Somya Chowdhary
Dr. Somya Chowdhary, MD, is an assistant professor of Ophthalmology at the WVU Eye Institute and the WVU Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. She specializes in adult and pediatric neuro-ophthalmology and has additional expertise in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus.
Dr. Chowdhary joined WVU in 2022 after completing two fellowships at the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute: Neuro-Ophthalmology and Inherited Retinal Diseases (2022) and Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (2020). She earned her medical degree in 2002 and completed her Ophthalmology Residency at Kasturba Medical College in 2007.
