Mrs. Derico is married and has two sons. She graduated from WVU SON in 1995 with a BSN and from Marshall University SON in 2012 with her MSN in Nursing Education. Her 29 years of clinical experiences include: Medical/Surgical Trauma ICU, Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and School Nursing. She has 16 years of teaching experience both in ASN and BSN programs within WV, which include a wealth of clinical, lab and classroom experiences. She is a Certified Nurse Educator through the NLN and has presented at local, state and national conferences. She is a faculty member at WVU SON at the Bridgeport campus accelerated BS/BSN program which opened in 2023. She maintains weekly service and practice hours at St. Patrick's Church in Weston as a Faith Community Nurse. She loves baking, camping and traveling with her family.
