About Lena Chen
Lena Chen, M.D., is an ophthalmologist who specializes in the treatment of corneal infections, trauma, scarring and inflammation, as while as corneal diseases such as keratoconus, Fuchs’ dystrophy and dry eye disease. She also performs cataract surgeries, corneal transplants, pterygium excisions and corneal cross-linking procedures.
Dr. Chen joined the WVU Eye Institute and the WVU Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences faculty in 2023. She serves as an assistant professor.
Chen completed the Cornea Fellowship Program at West Virginia University in 2023. She completed the Ophthalmology Residency Program at the State University of New York Downstate in 2022, where she also earned her medical degree in 2018. Chen also completed her internship at Northwell Staten Island University Hospital in 2019.
