About Sabina Nduaguba
Dr. Sabina Nduaguba is an Assistant Professor in Department of Pharmaceutical Systems and Policy at West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. She obtained her master’s and doctoral degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Health Outcomes) at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining the Department, Dr Nduaguba completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Pharmacoepidemiology at the University of Florida.
Dr. Nduaguba’s research involves the application of epidemiologic methods to real-world database research aimed at identifying gaps in healthcare delivery and evaluating the comparative effectiveness of treatments. Disease areas of interest include cancer, HIV, and respiratory diseases. Their current research program focuses on translating findings from database studies to inform the design of interventions that address access and outcome disparities among patients with cancer. Some of real-world databases the have utilized in their research include SEER-Medicare data, West Virginia Cancer Registry data, Medicaid claims data, MarketScan commercial claims data, Texas HIV surveillance data, and electronic health records data. Dr. Nduaguba is also a collaborator with the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study, which is the largest and most comprehensive effort to quantify health loss across places and over time.
