Narrative:

 

Dr. Michelle Moore completed her undergraduate work at Penn State University where she majored in both Life Science and Spanish. She obtained her M.A. in Communication Sciences from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio before completing her Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Moore joined the WVU faculty in 2012. As Director of the Language and Literacy Laboratory, her research focuses on phonological, orthographic, and memory processes in language and literacy for both typical and impaired learning. To study these topics, Dr. Moore has employed basic behavioral, neuroimaging, and neuropsychological experimental techniques.

Current Service: 

 

Dr. Moore serves as a mentor for faculty and student mentoring programs of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) such as the Mentoring Academic Research Careers (MARC) Program and the Promoting the Next Generation of Researchers (PROGENY) Program. She serves as an ad hoc reviewer for various ASHA grant awards, professional

conference presentation submissions, and research journals in communication sciences & disorders and cognitive science.
