About Kayleigh Nolan
Narrative:
Kayleigh joined WVU in August 2021 and earned her PhD in Occupational Science from Towson University in 2023. Her clinical background includes addressing the diverse needs of patients within the acute hospital, inpatient psychiatric hospital, and inpatient rehabilitation settings. Her areas of interest include: occupational science, mental health, maternal health and well-being, low vision, and adult life transitions. Kayleigh has a specialty certification in low-vision rehabilitation from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Her doctoral dissertation focused on the lived experiences of mothers in the postpartum period who conceived with assisted reproductive technology (ART), and how their emotional well-being could be analyzed from an occupational science perspective. She enjoys inter-professional opportunities, such as being an OT facilitator at the weekly Music, Voice, and Activity community group for individuals with Parkinson's Disease, as well as serving as an Inter-professional Education (IPE) Facilitator for WVU Health Sciences students. Kayleigh is also actively involved in projects to support individuals and their families experiencing substance use, programming for service dog training from an occupational therapy perspective, and supporting individuals and groups of individuals with various mental health conditions and needs. Kayleigh is actively serving as the West Virginia Occupational Therapy Association (WVOTA) Vice President, WVOTA Annual Conference Chairperson, and a Faculty Senator for the WVU Faculty Senate. Kayleigh finds great joy in fostering the well-being, learning, and development of students and student clinicians through innovative approaches to teaching.

Meaningful Roles and Occupations:
Spending time with my husband and (2) dogs, kayaking, interior decorating, learning, listening to/playing music, attending/watching collegiate sporting events (especially basketball).
