About Ali Hajiran
Dr. Ali Hajiran is a fellowship-trained urologic oncology surgeon and currently serves as the Chief of Urologic Oncology, Director of Robotic Surgery, and the Urology Residency Program Director at West Virginia University Cancer Institute. He leads the West Virginia University Cancer Institute Multidisciplinary Genitourinary Tumor Board and represents the states of Virginia and West Virginia on the Board of Directors for the American Urological Association Mid-Atlantic Section. A proud native of Wheeling, West Virginia, he earned his undergraduate degree from Wheeling Jesuit University and his Doctorate of Medicine from West Virginia University School of Medicine. He remained at West Virginia University to complete both his General Surgery Internship and Urologic Surgery Residency before pursuing advanced fellowship training at a Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO)-accredited program at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Hajiran specializes in the surgical management of complex cases of kidney, bladder, prostate, and testicular cancer utilizing both traditional and minimally-invasive robotic surgical techniques to deliver optimal oncologic outcomes. He has authored or co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters and remains actively involved in resident and medical student education. Deeply committed to his home state, Dr. Hajiran is passionate about providing world-class, compassionate cancer care to the people of West Virginia. Outside of the operating room, Dr. Hajiran is an avid Mountaineer fan and enjoys running, biking, swimming, and spending time on the trails of Morgantown with his wife, children, and two dogs.
