About Breanna Adkins
Narrative:
Dr. Adkins joined WVU in 2021, and earned her Ed. D. in Health Science Education from A. T. Still University in 2022. Her dissertation focus was student assessment in OT education. Dr. Adkins clinical background includes addressing the needs of children and families in home-based early intervention and skilled nursing rehabilitation. Her clinical interests include pediatrics, development across the lifespan, collaborating with families, and feeding and swallowing. Dr. Adkins is one of the only occupational therapists in West Virginia to be Board Certified in Pediatrics through the American Occupational Therapy Association. She is committed to creating authentic learning experiences for her students within the occupational therapy program by implementing hands-on learning activities in her courses. Dr. Adkins also serves as the Chair of the Admissions Committee for the division.

Dr. Adkins is a board-certified clinical specialist in pediatric occupational therapy who specializes in home-based early intervention and feeding and swallowing. She currently provides occupational therapy services through West Virginia Birth to Three and sees children in the WVU Medicine multi-disciplinary Brachial Plexus Clinic.
