About Heather Tucker
Hometown: North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania
Undergraduate institution: West Virginia University
Medical school: West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine
Why did you choose WVU? I was raised in a family of Mountaineers and when I came here for undergrad, I fell in love with the beauty of this state and the people who make it special. WVU Medicine was no exception, and the department of emergency medicine is the perfect blend of academic, community, and rural experience taught by incredible mentors. My husband and I already feel like members of the family!
Brief bio: I grew up in North Huntingdon, PA, about 30 minutes east of Pittsburgh. I came to WVU to major in biology and to play snare in the drumline, following in my father’s footsteps. I went to medical school in Lewisburg, WV and am thrilled to stay in the state for residency at WVU. I met my husband in the drumline and together we enjoy mountain biking, cross-country and downhill skiing, rock climbing, and playing with our adopted hound mix, Jasper.
