Dr. Cherkasova is interested in the psychological and neural mechanisms of reward-related behavior with a particular interest in the mechanisms supporting addiction. Her research takes a variety of methodological approaches including experimental psychology, eye tracking, neuroimaging and psychopharmacology. The ultimate goal for her research is to provide mechanistic insights to help improve addiction treatment and prevention strategies.
