About Christena Ross
Through her work with the Office of Health Affairs, Christena provides consultation to government partners through project planning, development and performance monitoring. She’s currently working with the West Virginia Bureau for Medical Services and Bureau for Behavioral Health in Charleston, WV, where she is collaborating with these agencies to improve the health of West Virginia Medicaid recipients with mental health and substance use disorders.
Prior to joining the Office of Health Affairs, Christena was the Director of Research and Grants Administration for CAMC Health Education and Research Institute for seven years. She led the research compliance program, the Institutional Research Board and oversaw fiscal and programmatic management for grants and other funding instruments. She was also instrumental in securing important accreditations. During her twenty year career at CAMC, Christena was an integral part of establishing CAMC University to provide organizational development and leadership training. She is a former Executive Director of Thomas Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Christena is a former National and State Examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award. Christena has been an examiner trainer for Indiana and Ohio and brought the first trainer class to West Virginia. She was one of CAMC’s first Six Sigma Green Belts and has training with Lean Performance Improvement methods.
