Dr. Christopher R. Deskins joined the Department of Anesthesiology at WVU Healthcare in July of 2020, as a Pediatric Anesthesiologist.  Dr. Deskins earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2006 and received his Medical Doctorate from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 2006.  He completed a Pediatric Residency at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in 2013. After three years, Dr. Deskins was accepted into the WVU School of Medicine, Anesthesia Residency Program, where he served as Chief Resident and completed his Anesthesia Residency in June 2019.  In July of 2020, he completed a Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA.  He is board certified in both Pediatric and Anesthesia.

Area of Interests

Electronic Health Records:  optimizing efficiency and accuracy of the EHR to facilitate timely patient evaluations and reduced medical areas.

Ultrasound: use of per-operative ultrasound for diagnosis/rapid assessment of patient clinical status.

Regional and Acute Pain: Per-operative nerve blocks and acute pain management.
