About Garrett Jones
Garrett Jones, MD is a general otolaryngologist in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at West Virginia University, where he recently completed his residency training in 2024. As a generalist, he performs a wide variety of procedures including sinus surgery, thyroid surgery, otologic surgery, and Inspire hypoglossal nerve stimulator implantation. His practice also encompasses laryngology, providing comprehensive voice, swallow, and airway procedures such as tracheal dilation, vocal cord injections and surgeries, and dysphagia procedures including Zenker's diverticulum surgery.
Dr. Jones completed his medical education at West Virginia University School of Medicine in 2019, following his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he graduated magna cum laude. He then completed his five-year otolaryngology residency at West Virginia University, finishing in June 2024. His comprehensive training has prepared him to handle the full spectrum of otolaryngologic conditions across all subspecialties.
During his training, Dr. Jones demonstrated a commitment to research and scholarly activity, contributing to multiple peer-reviewed publications in areas including chronic rhinosinusitis, head and neck pathology, and auditory brainstem development. His work has been published in respected journals such as the International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology and Otology & Neurotology. He has presented his research at national meetings including the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery annual meeting and the Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meeting.
Dr. Jones is dedicated to medical education and has been involved in educational initiatives throughout his training, including programs to increase otolaryngology interest among medical students. He maintains active membership in the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and continues to contribute to the advancement of the field through his clinical practice and scholarly activities. His broad-based training and diverse skill set allow him to provide comprehensive otolaryngologic care to patients across all age groups and subspecialties.
