About Daniel Christy
As an embedded research associate, Daniel serves as a WVU representative and liaison to the WV DHHR Bureau for Behavioral Health (BBH) for the planning and performance of projects, programs, and activities involving health data analytics and program evaluation. In this role, he works closely with the BBH and Office of Health Affairs leadership to leverage its data and support analytic and policy needs, conducting relevant policy and evaluation research as well as participating in interdisciplinary research and evaluation.
Prior to joining the Office of Health Affairs, Daniel worked for the Bureau for Public Health as director of the WV State Health Statistics Center (HSC) from 1996-2018. He was also the principal investigator for the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) Survey, as well as manager for several chronic disease epidemiologists. Daniel's background provides experience in critical areas such as research, planning, survey design and administration, budget management, policy development, and technical writing.
