About Susan McKenrick
I was born and raised in Glens Falls, NY. After high school I attended Liberty Baptist College (now Liberty University) with a plan of completing general education requirements while they put a nursing program in place. Unfortunately, their plan did not come to fruition for many years and I took a different path for a while. In 2007 I returned to my first love - nursing. I obtained an Associate Degree in Nursing from Allegany College of Maryland in 2009. After several years working in the MD state prisons in Cumberland, I decided it was time to advance my education and attended the RN to MSN program at WVU in the Family Nurse Practitioner track. I graduated from that program in 2015 and obtained ANCC board certification in July of 2015, and finished the DNP program in May of 2020. My husband and I have 4 grown children. We love to motorcycle in our spare time.
Teaching interests: I enjoy all aspects of teaching. I would be interested in teaching in Health Promotion and in Evidence Based Practice.
I am interested in any research that leads to improved patient outcomes. In particular, I am interested in ways to effectively promote screening and patient engagement in treatment for hepatitis C.
