Kathryn "Katie" Hoffman currently serves as the Project Manager for the Department of Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Research Coordinator for STEPS Simulation Lab. She began her journey into simulation and IPE in 2013 when she became a standardized patient. In 2016, she joined STEPS full-time as a Simulation Information Specialist. Katie is an active member of STEPS’s Research Committee, Evaluation, Quality, & Inspection (EQI) Committee, and Policy & Procedure Committee. Katie became a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) in 2019, and has presented the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH), the Human Patient Simulation Network (HPSN) World Conference, and the IPE NEXUS Summit.
