BIOGRAPHY
About Amy Kurowski-Burt
Narrative:
Dr. Burt joined WVU in 2012. Her clinical expertise focuses on pediatrics, particularly children with autism, sensory processing challenges, visual system deficits, and feeding deficits. She also works with inclusive and adapted community programming for children. Dr. Burt works closely with the WVU Centers for Excellence in Disabilities (CED) Specialized Feeding Clinic, LEND program, and the Country Roads Program. She is also involved with a variety of campus wide interprofessional education (IPE) activities for the occupational therapy students. Dr. Burt has received the following honors: Vice Presidents Award, Team Award, Go First Award, WVU HSC Vice President's Office (2021); Academy of Excellence in Teaching and Learning, HSC Faculty Development Program (2021); SOM Distinguished Teacher Award (2019); President's Volunteer Service Award (2017); WVU HSC Vice President's Award for Team Achievement (2017); and School of Medicine Distinguished Teacher Award- Junior Level (2013). She also serves as Advocacy representative for the AOTA Children and Youth SIS. Meaningful Occupations: mother of 4 children, wife, daughter, aunt, and sister; baker; gardener, and sports fan.
