About Jason Hedrick
Dr. Hedrick joined the School of Medicine in February 2013 to coordinate the 2015 Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation site visit. In 2015, he was promoted to director of academic operations and accreditation. After completing a PhD in Higher Education, Dr. Hedrick was appointed to the faculty rank of assistant professor. He oversees the
Continuous Quality Improvement Committee (CQIC), typically coalescing data sources and aligning them with accreditation standards, allowing the committee to make judgements concerning compliance. Aside from CQIC, he also works with and serves both the Curriculum Committee and Committee on Academic and Professional Standards (CAPS). Dr. Hedrick is an elected Senator to the University Faculty Senate starting a three-year term in fall 2022. He was further appointed to the WVU Curriculum Committee.
Dr. Hedrick serves as a faculty facilitator in the HSC interprofessional education program. He completed a masters degree in public history and is passionate about Appalachian history and culture. He annually presents an Appalachian culture and history session to incoming medical students to help prepare them for their clinical experiences in the region. Dr. Hedrick leveraged his work in medical education and passion for Appalachia to complete a dissertation and PhD in Higher Education.
