Dr. John E. Parker is Professor of Medicine, Radiology and Public Health, and former Chief of Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at West Virginia University.  Dr. Parker has special interests and experience in Occupational Lung Disorders, as well as Critical Care, Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and Sleep Medicine.  During a distinguished career in the U.S. Public Health Service, he was active in the development and implementation of Surveillance and Screening Programs for Occupational Respiratory Diseases.  He has also frequently served as a consultant for both the World Health Organization and the International Labor Office.  He has led national and international investigations of outbreaks of Occupational and Environmental Lung Diseases.  He is the author of numerous scientific publications including the books, Occupational Lung Diseases, An International Perspective, and International Classification of High-Resolution Computed Tomography for Occupational and Environmental Respiratory Diseases.
