About Melina Danko
Melina Danko serves as the Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing at the West Virginia University Center for Excellence in Disabilities (CED) and as Program Director for the WV Family to Family Health Information Center and the Paths for Parents programs. With more than 20 years of experience, she specializes in developing and leading disability and health communication initiatives that expand access to information and support for individuals and families. As a member of the CED’s Executive Leadership Team, she contributes to organizational leadership, including the development of policies, administrative practices, and strategic objectives.
Melina is also a first-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication Studies at West Virginia University. Her research focuses on health and family communication, with an emphasis on creating translational products that make complex health information accessible and meaningful for diverse audiences. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a Master of Science in Journalism, both from West Virginia University.
