Drug and Health Information
The West Virginia Center for Drug and Health Information (WV CDHI), in operation for over 40 years (known previously as the West Virginia Drug Information Center), has as its mission service provision, student/practitioner education, and research/scholarly activities to optimize access to and the appropriate use of drug and therapeutics information to improve patient care. The WV CDHI serves as a comprehensive drug and drug therapy information resource, primarily geared to health care providers throughout West Virginia. The WV CDHI also works with community groups to enhance patient and public use of high quality medical information resources.

About Matthew Blommel
Matthew L. Blommel received his PharmD Degree from Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy. He then completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Blommel acquired drug information experience during his residency at the University of Pittsburgh and at Eckerd Health Systems where he provided drug information to patients and health care professionals from 2002-2003. He began serving as Assistant Director of the West Virginia Center for Drug and Health Information (WV CDHI) in October 2003. Dr. Blommel serves as one of the preceptors for the experiential drug information rotation in the WV CDHI for Doctor of Pharmacy degree students. He will also teach students in various didactic courses in the School of Pharmacy and will participate in laboratories designed to give pharmacy students hands-on practice with electronic sources of drug information.
