About Chance Panter
Hometown: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Undergraduate institution: Vanderbilt University
Medical school: Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine
Why did you choose WVU? During interview day, WVU DEM showcased all the traits of a high-functioning team, from the faculty to the administrative support staff. I knew after my interview that WVU was the program that would ensure that I not only achieved mastery of my skills as a developing emergency medicine physician but would also push me to reach my potential regardless of my pursuits in and beyond residency.
Brief bio: Chance Panter is originally from Marietta, GA but considers Fayetteville, NC his home. After graduating from Vanderbilt, he served for ten years in the United States Army; first as a Field Artillery Officer and later as a Psychological Operations Officer. During his time with the military, he worked in Central and South America, as well as the Middle East. When not working, Chance spends his time with his wife, four children, and their Irish setter. They enjoy visiting local and regional parks to hike and kayak. Once the weather cools off, they are excited to continue enjoying the opportunities West Virgina offers and try new winter activities. Chance also enjoys playing the Great Highland bagpipes and painting historical wargaming miniatures for relaxation.
