About Chase Shank
Hometown: Parkersburg, West Virginia
Undergraduate institution: West Virginia University
Medical school: West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine
Why did you choose WVU? After my audition here, I knew WVU was the place for me. Even during the busiest of shifts, the attendings and residents were willing to take the time to teach or guide me through procedures. The program felt like they were one big family and having that support both inside and outside the hospital was important to me. Morgantown is also a great place to live because you experience the feeling of living in a small city, but you are a short drive from hiking trails and lakes in the summer and multiple places to go skiing or snowboarding in the winter.
Brief bio: Hello, I’m Chase. I grew up on a farm just outside of Parkersburg, WV. I studied Exercise Physiology at WVU and was a WVU cheerleader. I went on to obtain a Master’s in Public Administration emphasis in Healthcare Administration at WVU before going to medical school at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV. Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, hunting, skiing, farming, playing or watching sports, video games, and cooking.
