About Kaia Richmond
Hometown: Pensacola Beach, Florida
Undergraduate institution: Florida State University
Medical school: West Virginia University School of Medicine
Why did you choose WVU? Throughout medical school, WVU quickly became a home away from home. This community and this program are incredibly welcoming and supportive. I love the diversity of pathologies we are exposed to in the emergency department. Additionally, this program offers a unique opportunity to learn at a large academic center, while also emphasizing rural healthcare.
Brief bio: I grew up mainly in Moore, Oklahoma and Pensacola Beach, Florida with my three brothers. I went to college at Florida State University where I majored in Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience and worked as a medical assistant for a neurosurgical clinic. I then made the move up to West Virginia where I attended medical school at WVU. Outside of work, I love going to workout classes, attending any and all sporting events, hanging out with my friends, reading books, and spending time with my tuxedo cat, Moose. I am so excited to continue learning more about West Virginia and rural emergency medicine throughout my residency training here!
