About Ohlen Rudy
Hometown: Hudson, Ohio
Undergraduate: Muskingum University
Medical School: West Virginia University School of Medicine
Why did you choose WVU? I really appreciated the faculty here in this department being so welcoming and giving me a great opportunity to be in a supportive environment. Additionally, I made a great home here in Morgantown during medical school and felt that staying for residency was a great choice for my loved ones and me.\
Brief Bio:
I grew up in Northeast Ohio and stayed in Ohio during undergrad. Growing up, I was always active in sports and got the chance to play Division 3 lacrosse and soccer for Muskingum University. Prior to medical school, I moved to Boston as a change of pace in life and for my significant other to get her masters’ degree. I moved there though always with the intention to go medical school in the near future.
In my free time, I like to remain active with crossfit, soccer, and other pickup sports leagues. I am a huge Cleveland sports fan and Browns season ticket holder. I try to ski as much as possible every winter, and want to try to expand the number of mountains I have skiied. I have an open vacation slot for skiing this winter, and am looking foreward to planning it. I am recently engaged to my longtime significant other, Allison. Shortly after getting engaged, I was finally given permission to get a dog! Her name is Violet and she is a beagle mix from a local shelter. After residency, I don’t know where I am trying to end up. I am pretty flexible in terms of where I would live, and I think Allison and I are open to whatever opportunities present themselves.
