Why did you choose WVU?

The people I met and the experiences I had at WVU throughout my education made it easy for me to decide to stay here for residency.

Brief bio:
When I was growing up, I had no idea what I wanted to do for a career. I knew that I liked sports, food, and healthy living, so I went to WVU and earned a degree in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Human Nutrition. I spent a couple years working part-time as a soccer coach for a local club while in school, which led to me (briefly) playing for a semi-professional soccer team based out of Lancaster, PA. I still enjoy playing soccer recreationally and coaching on occasion when I’m able. Following most of my soccer escapades, a multitude of jobs and extracurriculars during college helped me to realize two very important things about myself: 1) I love to help people, and 2) medicine fascinates me. After deciding a career in medicine was where my future lay, I had the opportunity to stay at WVU for medical school and was part of the WVU SoM Culinary and Lifestyle Medicine Track, in addition to later being accepted into WVU MATTER for Emergency Medicine. I’m very excited to remain at WVU for my residency in Emergency Medicine, and couldn’t be happier with the opportunities I’ve been given. My faith and family are my highest priorities, and I spend most of my free time with my wonderful wife, Lucy, and our long-haired dachshund, Wilson. Lucy and I can often be found reading, cooking, working out, and spending time with family and friends.
