Why did you choose WVU?
Going into interview season, I knew that I wanted to train at a program that was committed to providing high quality resident education, unique training experiences to allow me to find my “niche” in emergency medicine all while being surrounded by supportive leadership and colleagues. After my interview, it was evident that WVU had all the qualities that I was looking for in a program and more! WVU is unique in that residents get training experience working in a Level 1 academic center, community hospital and in the rural setting through their REMI program. Aside from the program, Morgantown has so much to offer with an abundance of outdoor activities, beautiful scenery, low cost of living and tons of Mountaineer pride! I could not be happier to be a part of the WVU EM family!
Brief bio:
I grew up in a small town in Eastern Kentucky and went to college at Morehead State University where I majored in Biomedical Science. I then attended medical school at the University of Kentucky in Lexington (Go CATS!!!). In my free time, you can usually catch me hanging outdoors with my dogs (Winnie and Hattie), trying local restaurants/coffee shops, listening to Taylor Swift or finishing up my latest cross-stitching project!
