Prior to joining the Project Management Office, John was a program coordinator in the WVU School of Public Health, where he helped coordinate with the Bureau for Medical Services and statewide experts to gather and update information to create a new version of the West Virginia State Medicaid Health Information Technology Plan (SMHP).

John also served as a senior project coordinator in the WVU Office of Research Integrity and Compliance (ORIC), working with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to coordinate and conduct the review of human subjects research proposals. He also educated, advised, and trained faculty and students on IRB processes and regulations as well as managed the CITI and Responsible Conduct of Research trainings. Through his work experience, John has gained invaluable insight into federal- and university-specific regulations and programs.
