Long Bio

Dr. Mattes specializes in radiation therapy, with special interests including lung, prostate, bladder, anorectal, and esophageal cancers .  He is currently involved in several clinical trials, all oriented towards improving the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and the quality of life of cancer patients.  Before joining the faculty at West Virginia University, he completed an internship in internal medicine at Stanford University and a residency in radiation oncology at New York Methodist Hospital.
